- Broad ranging disputes work
- Associate to Senior Associate level role
- Boutique Auckland firm
A rare opportunity to join a successful boutique practice born out of large firm partners looking for a different path. They already have a strong litigation team and are looking for a talented lawyer to join their ranks.
The work and clients are equally varied and broad-ranging and as a result, the team is familiar with a range of courts and jurisdictions. Areas of work include:
- Commercial Litigation
- Arbitration and Mediation
- Competition and Regulation
- Property and Construction Disputes
- Public Law and Judicial Review
It’s a given that you have solid general commercial litigation experience. You will also need a client-led, commercial focus to the solutions and pathways you advise on. The litigation team reflects the rest of the firm in working with a range of clients described at 'SME upwards'. They also have a handful of very wealthy individuals they work for, with the common factor being an entrepreneurial feel to their commercial ventures. They also don't tend to work in strict silos, meaning you could have the opportunity to touch on different related areas of practice. Something that is very rare in a larger firm.
This firm was set up almost twenty years ago by partners from top tier firms, looking to do things a little differently. Since then they have gone from 6 people to over 20 and created a unique work environment with less emphasis on personal budgets and billing targets. The aim is to create a cooperative rather than a competitive approach to the work.
The work environment is described as pleasant and positive, with plenty of energy coming from the group of junior lawyers. Hours aren't typically long and there is some flexibility around start time. This role comes with prospects for the right person and would certainly suit a Senior Associate
