Corporate Affairs Role | Iconic Kiwi Company

Location Icon Auckland
  • Work closely with the CEO and CFO
  • Wide range of legal, commercial and strategic matters.
  • Make the role your own
This is a great opportunity for someone who would welcome the challenge of a commercially focussed role, within a company that has both a strong history and a bright future. Over the years it has plenty of change and growth, and ongoing development and innovation means that is set to continue. You will need to be flexible and open-minded in your approach to make the contribution needed in this role.

The position is best described as a 360 degree position in support of the CFO, CEO and Commercial GM, and will call on your legal, commercial and strategic skills. Alongside a good legal understanding, a solutions-based philosophy and positive outlook will be your most important assets. You will need the confidence to say no, but your instinct should definitely be to say yes, let's make this work.

Areas of responsibility will include:
  • Contract negotiation and drafting;
  • Policy and legislation;
  • Various Terms and Conditions;
  • Marketing and Sponsorship;
  • Risk management;
  • Leases and Renewals;
  • Bespoke projects;
  • Managing external litigation;
  • Legal research;
  • Intellectual property;
  • Submissions to council and other bodies; and
  • Resource Management
The nature of the business means that there are key external stakeholders and therefore your ability to maintain strong relationships, whilst protecting the company's position will be crucial. There are aspects of the work which will be unique and legacy issues that also need to be navigated.

It is likely you will come from a strong commercial and contracts background, and ideally have some previous in-house experience. There will be plenty of budget and encouragement to use external counsel for thorny legal matters, ensuring your priorities can be assisting the management team to implement the plans and changes ahead.
