You may have seen that McLeod Duminy recently went global – well semi-global – via an exclusive partnership with Winchester Search and GPR Legal. It has given us access to roles, and importantly up-to-date knowledge, from London to Hong Kong and Australia via the Middle East and the Caribbean. With Kiwis being adventurous types, and an entrenched tradition of lawyers heading overseas, we look forward to working with more people heading off-shore.
It wouldn’t have a scientific basis but I would estimate about 50% of the candidates we speak with have the ambition to head overseas at some point in their career. Happily a New Zealand education and training (as well as the 7th best passport in the world) – are well thought of in most Common Law jurisdictions and so as things pick up around the world the options are opening up again. The international page on our website has a snap shot on a few popular destinations but if you would like more detailed advice then feel free to give us a call and we can talk through your plans.
We can also help you if you are already overseas and wanting to come home. Trust us everybody wants to come home in the end.
