Opportunities like these are few and far between. The team is bottom heavy and there is a definite opportunity for someone who is looking for a role that could offer a path to equity partner in a well-regarded, national law firm. 

The role will see you working directly with the partner and you’ll effectively be the 2IC of the Christchurch Commercial Property team. You’ll be advising clients in the public and private sector on a complete range of matters relating to commercial, industrial, residential and rural property. Where appropriate, the team also works closely with the firm’s construction and corporate teams.

The role requires someone who can hit the ground running and who can take on a reasonable amount of responsibility and autonomy including managing client relationships, business development as well as leading and driving the team.  This is certainly not the type of firm where Partners hold client relationships to themselves so be prepared to have plenty of client contact and to network with existing as well as potential clients. Overall, the firm has a social culture,  an entrepreneurial mindset and your initiative will be most welcome.
